  • Year 1 were ever so lucky this week and went on a special trip to Reading Museum. Our focus this half term is a painting called Children’s Games by Pieter Bruegel. It depicts a scene from 1600 with an enormous variety of games being played by children, most involving various toys. We have looked and talked about toys we play with now but have very limited access to toys from the past. Reading Museum have a toy section and toy workshops where we were able to use and explore a variety of toys we would never normally come across. The children loved exploring the museum, playing with artefacts and dressing up as children from Victorian times. The highlight of the trip was when they got to make their very own toys.1

We are three form entry school nestled within the heart of Cippenham, on the Western edge of Slough. We are one of seven schools that form The Park Federation Academy Trust. The WHA community and the family of Mrs Burcher came together on Saturday 13th May to begin redeveloping the pond area in to an exciting outdoor learning area. The garden will be named 'The Burcher Garden'  in memory of Mrs Burcher. We will send more updates as the project develops.
