Charities

Being a global citizen in our world is important to the community at WHA. Charities play an essential role in society. A charity helps pupils realise that it is possible to help others in a world full of uncertainties and chaos. Giving to charity gives a deeper meaning to life and helps children see their purpose to people in their society.

Please have a look below to see how the children have been supporting a range of charities.

Support for the Ukraine

Global Park 60

As part of The Park Federations Global 60 initiative, every year group at WHA sponsor a global friend from another country. The children have the opportunity to write to their sponsored child and look at innovative ways to raise money.

Nursery sponsor Rudy from Guatemala

Reception sponsor Umaru in Zambia

Year 1 sponsor Mathias from Ghana

Year 2 sponsor Masika from Tanzania

Year 3 sponsor Natsa from Eastern Uganda

Year 4 sponsor Munashe from Zimbabwe.

Year 5 sponsor Abigail from Uganda

Year 6 sponsor Prashod from Eastern Nepal.

Below are the year group displays to promote their sponsored child.

Pakistan Flood Appeal

The children at WHA were so moved by the plight of families in Pakistan, that they asked to hold a mufti day to raise money.

We held a non school uniform day on the 16th September and raised an incredible £904.30! A wonderful community effort.

Support for the people in Ukraine

In the two videos you will see how our whole school community came together to support the people in Ukraine.
