Year 5
A Day in London
Year 5 had a fantastic day exploring the sights of London as part of their learning around our class text, The London Eye Mystery. The adventure began with a thrilling ride on the London Eye, where the children enjoyed spectacular panoramic views across the capital – spotting famous landmarks and imagining the scenes from the story unfolding beneath them.
Afterwards, the year group enjoyed a relaxing picnic in the beautiful surroundings of Jubilee Gardens while soaking up the sunshine. The day continued with a scenic River Thames cruise, offering a new perspective of the city as we passed iconic landmarks such as Big Ben, Tower Bridge and the Houses of Parliament.
It was a wonderful day full of learning, fun and imagination – truly bringing our classroom reading to life!
Camping Adventure
The excitement was high as the children returned to school at 4:30pm, ready to begin their camping adventure. The evening kicked off with fun team-building games that helped everyone bond and work together. This was followed by a delicious BBQ that everyone thoroughly enjoyed.
Once they had refuelled, the children worked together to set up their tents, showing great teamwork and independence. As night fell, it was time for the much-anticipated talent show – a brilliant display of creativity and confidence, with performances including singing, dancing, jokes, gymnastics, drama and much more!
To end the evening, the children gathered for hot chocolate and marshmallows, sharing stories and laughter, making lasting memories with their friends.
The next morning, they were treated to a beautiful sunrise and a calming yoga session with Mr Robinson – the perfect end to a fantastic camping experience!
