Year 3

Year 3 had an amazing time on their trip to Maidenhead Odeon! This trip was a special part of our "10 by 10" experience, which encourages children to try ten enriching activities by age ten. For many Year 3 students, this was their first time walking to a train station, travelling by train, or visiting the cinema—creating memorable, first-time experiences they’ll cherish.

The excitement started right from the journey as the children embarked on a mini-adventure, walking from Western House Academy to Burnham Station. With nearly 12,000 steps under their belts by the end of the day, they showed fantastic energy and enthusiasm!

Once at Maidenhead Odeon, each child received a Kidz Mix bag with popcorn, a drink, and two tasty snacks.  The children enjoyed watching the movie Inside Out 2, a film that ties in beautifully with our current "Zones of Regulation" learning in class. The story helped the children reflect on emotions and understand how feelings grow and change as we get older, bringing their classroom learning to life in a fun, engaging way.

We couldn’t be prouder of the students for their outstanding behaviour and the respect they showed throughout the trip. A massive thank you also goes out to our wonderful parent helpers who joined us and made the day even more enjoyable. Well done, Year 3 — you were amazing!
