The Battle - Romans Vs Celts
The Battle
Romans versus Celts
On the 5th of April, the children and staff in Year 4 dressed up as Romans and Celts. Everyone was very excited as we had all been looking forward to having a battle with the shields that we had created in the class and were keen to demonstrate our battle techniques. First the Celts took their positions and then the Roman army formed a tortoise and approached the battle field. Mr Olney, who was dressed as a Roman general, gave instructions for the battle to begin. The Roman generals warned the Celts to drop their weapons or they would attack them. The Celts refused so the Roman generals ordered their army to charge. A ferocious battle ensued where both sides fought courageously. This brought the PBL topic of the Roman invasion to life and it will be a day that the children will never forget.
