In Reception, the children have settled into new routines and are making new friendships.  They are getting used to school routines and are engaged in interesting and exciting learning opportunities, both in our large classrooms and in our beautiful outside area.

Each day, the children have a shared reading, a phonics and a maths session, as well as opportunities to explore other aspects of the curriculum within the week.  These are short adult-led learning opportunities followed by purposeful and carefully planned opportunities to explore, consolidate and deepen new learning further through play.  A lot of our talk and learning is based around literature and will include books about Traditional Tales and Bears.

In the class, we celebrate success through Dojo points.  We have class bears that come for visits, and we share each other's successes in the classroom with certificates, rounds of applause and our wow work boards.  Every day, we develop our gross motor skills by climbing, dancing and stretching, and we develop our vocabulary through talking, singing and listening.

We are set to be amazing!
